Day of the Stars: Celebrating Young Talent at the Gran Kaz U17 League Awards Ceremony

On Tuesday 29th April 2025, the energy was electric at Gran Kaz Bel Ombre as young athletes, coaches, referees, and supporters gathered for the much-anticipated Gran Kaz U17 League Awards Ceremony, aptly named Day of the Stars. The annual event, now firmly established as a highlight on the local sporting calendar, brought together the brightest young football talents in the country to honour their achievements on and off the field.

This year, La Passe FC stole the spotlight once again, claiming the championship title for the second consecutive year and cementing their position as a dominant force in the youth league. The team’s determination, discipline, and teamwork were evident throughout the season, and their back-to-back title win was met with rousing applause.

Individual excellence was also in the spotlight. Diedre Roucco, known for her sharp eye and unwavering fairness, was once again named Best Referee, a testament to her consistency and integrity on the pitch. The Fair Play Award was proudly claimed by Côte d’Or FC, reflecting their exemplary sportsmanship and respect for the game.

Best Referee Diedre Roucco, known for her sharp eye and unwavering fairness, was once again named best referee, a testament to her consistency and integrity on the pitch.

Best Goalkeeper – Pascal Vidot, whose quick reflexes and commanding presence between the posts were crucial to his team’s strong defensive record.

Best Defender – Lienal Bibi, who showcased remarkable discipline and resilience at the back, making him a rock in defence.

Best Scorer – Eriano Rajaobary, whose goal-scoring prowess kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the season.

Best Player – Torry Radegonde, whose skill, leadership, and passion for the game set him apart as a true star of the league.

Following the official proceedings, the celebration continued with a special brunch for the players and attendees, offering a chance to reflect, connect, and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship in a more relaxed setting.
